MICHELE MAINOLDI

Fabbrini tuner technician for three generations, he began his first tuning experiences at the age of 16, fascinated by the professionalism of his uncles Angelo and Vittorio Fabbrini, world-famous tuners.

In 1994 and 1995 he moved to Japan for several months in Hamamatsu where he obtained two prestigious diplomas (Senior and Gp course) at the Piano Technical Academy, Yamaha.

From 1995 to 2002 he attended and worked periodically in the workshop of his uncle Angelo Fabbrini in Pescara.

In 2000 he attended the course (“volunteering”) at Steinway & Sons in Hamburg, working for a month inside the factory.

In 2003 he took part in the technical meeting of Pleyel dealers in France.

In 2007 he obtained the Steinway diploma from the Hamburg Academy for Concert Technicians, under the guidance of the renowned technician Georges Ammann.

He is the only Italian technician to have achieved both the Steinway and Yamaha diplomas.

For several years he has been dealing with assistance for concerts throughout Italy and Europe as a technician of the Fabbrini concert service.

He has attended prestigious festivals and piano competitions such as the "Festival dei due Mondi" - Spoleto, Gubbio Festival, "Festival delle Nazioni" - Città di Castello, AMA Calabria - Lamezia Terme (CZ), "Armonie della Sera" - Marche region, " Perpianosolo Meeting ”- Marche region, Val di Sole National Piano Competition - Folgarida (TN),“ Italian Pianists Cup ”- Osimo (AN), International Piano Competition Republic of San Marino, ROF - Rossini Opera Festival - Pesaro.

 

It boasts important collaborations with theaters, conservatories, music schools and concert seasons throughout Italy.

 

He has collaborated and collaborates with internationally renowned artists such as: Alexander Lonquich, Andràs Schiff, Angela Hewitt, Antonio Ballista, Antonio Pappano, Arkadij Volodos, Beatrice Rana, Bruno Canino, Cristina Ortiz, Daniil Trifonov, Denis Matsuev, Gile Bae, Giuseppe Albanese, Gloria Campaner, Grigory Sokolov, Ivo Pogorelich, Khatia Buniatishvili, Leif Ove Andsnes, Louis Lortie, Marc-André Hamelin, Marco Sollini, Maria João Pires, Mariangela Vacatello, Martha Argerich, Nelson Freire, Pier Lauren Aimard, Radu Lupu, Ramin Bahrami, Stefano Bollani, Yulianna Avdeeva, Yuja Wang.

 

In his laboratory he carries out repairs and restorations of grand and upright pianos.

He tunes the piano and harpsichord by ear.
